Visiting Assistant Prof. Heejin Kim

Graduate School of Data Science, Seoul National University (SNU). 

Her research interests include AI ethics and human rights; emerging technologies and global trade; and public international law. She serves as a Senior Associate Editor for the Asian Journal of International Law and frequently provides research consultancy for the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of Korea.

Prior to joining SNU in 2022, Heejin worked as a Cyber Security CRC Fellow at the UNSW (Sydney) School of Law and Justice from 2019 to 2021 and ASEAN Postdoctoral Fellow at the Faculty of Law/Centre for International Law, National University of Singapore from 2015 to 2019. She has also taught at the Underwood International College of Yonsei University and Chungnam National University Law School in Korea as a Lecturer.

Heejin holds LL.M and J.S.D (Doctor of the Science of Law) from the Yale Law School. She is a recipient of multiple academic awards including the Korean Government Scholarship for Overseas Doctoral Studies (Ministry of Education) and the Howard M. Holtzmann Fellowship in International Arbitration and Dispute Resolution (Yale). For her first law degree, she studied at Sookmyung Women’s University.
