Prof. Anne Riechert

Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences, Germany.

Anne Riechert has been a professor of data protection law and law in the information processing at the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences since 2009.

Here she is a member of the Center for Applied European Studies (CAES) with the research focus: “General Data Protection Regulation” and “Data Sovereignty”. Currently (since 2016), Ms Riechert is also the scientific head of the foundation Datenschutz (data protection).

Ms Riechert is a member of the scientific advisory board of the Federal Ministry of Labour. She was also active as an expert in public hearings and has worked as a reviewer for the Federal Ministry of Education and Research for research funding programs since 2018.

Moreover, she is involved in the “a New Governance Project”, an initiative which aims at developing a fair data economy and is established at European level.

Ms Riechert is a board member of the network AI Frankfurt Rhein-Main e.V. (https://www.ai-frankfurt.de/). Here she has initiated the task force “Ethik, Recht und Gesellschaft” (Ethics, Law and Society). Furthermore she is the Deputy Director of the “Centre Responsible Digitality” (wwwe.zevedi.de).
