Timo Minssen is a German/Swedish Law Professor at the University of Copenhagen (UCPH). Timo specializes in IP, tech-transfer, antitrust & regulation of emerging health & life science technologies, including AI. He is the Director of the Center for Advanced Studies in Biomedical Innovation Law (CeBIL) at UCPH, a Quantum Law Researcher at  Lund University (LU), and a senior consultant at the law firm X-officio.

He also acts as advisor to the WHO/WIPO/EU, governments & private sector. He has published 4 books and 150+ award winning publications in law & science journals such as Science, Nature Genetics, Nature Biotech, Nature Electronics, Nature PJ Digital Medicine, & The Lancet Digital Health. He is PI in large research projects with Harvard Law School, Harvard Medical School, MIT & Universities of Cambridge & Michigan. Timo holds a German Staatsexamen & Dipl. Jur. (Georg-August-University, Göttingen), as well as life science & IP-related LL.D./J.S.D.(Swedish Jur.Dr.), LL.Lic. LL.M. & M.I.C.L. (Lund & Uppsala University) degrees. He has also gained practical experience at international law firms & life science start-ups, the European Patent Office & German courts (Ref. jur.).

Moreover, he  has been a visiting Professor at the Universities of Cambridge, Oxford, Harvard Law School and Chicago-Kent Law School, as well as stipendiate at the Max Planck Institute for Innovation & Competition in Munich and fellow of the epigenetics group at LU’s Pufendorf Institute f.
