Viktorija Soņeca is currently an adviser to the Supreme Court of Latvia in civil cases. Previously, she headed the European Court of Justice Department at the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Latvia, where she represented the country at the Court of Justice of the European Union. She has also worked as a lawyer at the law firm Sorainen. In addition, she served as the legal editor of the national journal “Jurista Vārds” and worked as the OECD’s national expert on digital issues. Currently, she is a guest lecturer at the Riga Graduate School of Law and a researcher focused on European Union law, lobbying, and artificial intelligence issues. She has experience as an editor and project initiator in drafting and publishing books in the legal field.
