Kyungsuk Kim is a professor of intellectual property law at Sangmyung University in Seoul, South Korea.
Professor Kim specializes in copyright law, digital content regulation and the legal challenges posed by emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, generative AI and deepfakes. Professor Kim has published extensively in leading international (e.g. GRUR International and AIRe) and Korean (e.g. Journal of AI Law and Regulation and Copyright Quarterly) journals.
Professor Kim is currently President of ALAI Korea, and her professional experience includes serving on the Presidential Council on Intellectual Property and on advisory and evaluation committees within Korea’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. She has also chaired the Deliberation Committee of the Korea Copyright Protection Agency (KCOPA). Professor Kim actively participates in international copyright discourse and regularly presents at ALAI congresses and WIPO-related projects.
