Belona will join the Humanizing Machine Intelligence at the Australian National University in winter 2021 as a PhD Candidate. She completed a Bachelor degree in software engineering and a Master degree in Computer science, Electronic and Automation at the University of Ngaoundere, Cameroon. After that she joined the AMMI (African Master in Machine Intelligence) scholarship program at the AIMS (African Institute for Mathematical Sciences) Rwanda, which is a one-year intensive master in Artificial Intelligence. Her current research focuses on explainability and privacy-preserving in AI-based solutions for Healthcare applications.
Besides that, Belona is engaged in many organisations that advocate for the promotion of Ethical Artificial Intelligence in Africa such as AfroLeadership, Women in Machine Learning and Data Science Yaounde and others.
