Dr. Sema Candemir

Dr. Sema Candemir is a Research Scientist at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Department of Radiology. She has been focusing on medical image and video analysis; specifically region of interest detection, local image descriptors, and integration of imaging modalities with non-imaging clinical data. In 2013-2018, she was a research scientist and postdoctoral researcher at the U.S. National Library of Medicine, National Institutes of Health. In 2011-2012, she was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Missouri-Columbia.

She has received several awards, including the Best Paper Award in the 30thIEEE CBMS in 2017, the NLM Honor Awards in 2016 and 2017, and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Ignited Pathway Award for Automatic X-ray screening for Rural Areas in 2014.
