Luca Alessandro Cappellini
Luca is a final-year Italian medical student at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, Milan.
During his fourth year of medical study he did an Erasmus Traineeship in Cardiology at St George’s University Hospital, London. Later on, he started his thesis project in Radiology, Cardiovascular Radiology and had the opportunity to do a thesis internship at University Hospital of Zürich, Zürich in the department of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology, Cardiovascular Radiology. He is currently doing an Erasmus Traineeship at Ludwig Maximillian University, Munich in Anesthesiology and Radiology.
He is interested in diagnostic and invasive Radiology, Cardioradiology, Neuroradiology, research of quantitative imaging techniques and application of technology for coordinated care between hospitals and community medicine.
He is pursuing his interests in big data, data science&engineering and computer science applied to the healthcare domain with specific interest AI applied to imaging and EHR, cloud technologies, interoperability, cybersecurity and data privacy for clinical trials.
He is associate of SIRM, Italian Society of Medical Radiology, EUSoMII, European Society of Medical Imaging Informatics, a student member of AMIA, American Medical Informatics Association, and Alumni of EITHealth network, and Executive Committee Member of InMedica, an association of young students, professionals and start-ups focused on bridging the gap between doctors and engineers thus facilitating innovation.
