Dr. Markku Suksi is Modeen Chair of Public Law at Åbo Akademi University School of Law in Turku/Åbo, Finland.

He teaches within the areas of constitutional law, administrative law and comparative law. He has published, inter alia, the following books and edited volumes: The Rule of Law and Automated Decision-Making – Exploring Fundamentals of Algorithmic Governance (ed.; Springer, 2023), Bringing in the People – A Comparison of Constitutional Forms and Practices of the Referendum (Martinus Nijhoff, 1993), 60 Years of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in Europe(co-ed., Intersentia, 2009), Sub-State Governance through Territorial Autonomy (Springer, 2011), First Fundamental Rights Documents in Europe (co-ed.; Intersentia, 2015) and Access to Information and Documents as a Human Right(together with Mariya Riekkinen; Institute for Human Rights, Åbo Akademi University, 2015).

He has authored a number of articles in English and Swedish in the area of automated decision-making, published in legal journals and edited volumes.
