Parisa Osivand

Vector Institute for Artificial Intelligence. Toronto, Canada

Parisa’s professional background is a blend of involvement in AI governance, data governance, privacy, compliance, risks, and security. She is very passionate about the potential of AI to support healthcare systems, leaders, and providers to enhance care access for all populations. However, it is imperative to recognize the risks and limitations of AI, especially when it comes to embedded bias and discrimination in data or models. This shortcoming looks very appealing to be curbed as one of the challenges AI is facing these days.  So, Parisa’s focus is on exploring and promoting ethical use of data and responsible AI in the healthcare space and she looks forward to meeting and collaborating with people who share similar interests and passion.

Parisa holds Master of Health Informatics from Dalla Lana School of Public Health at University of Toronto and Bachelor of Health Informatics from York University.
