Prof. Jim Torresen

Jim Torresen is Professor of Computer Science at the University of Oslo, Norway where he leads the Robotics and Intelligent System research group. He has worked with artificial intelligence for over 20 years through teaching, research and had responsibility for a number of externally funded research projects.

He is currently project manager or principal investigator in three Research Council of Norway projects and the RITMO Centre of Excellence for Interdisciplinary Studies in Rhythm, Time and Motion. Jim Torresen has been a visiting researcher at Kyoto University, Japan for one year, four months at Electrotechnical laboratory (now AIST), Tsukuba, Japan and a visiting professor at Cornell University, USA for one year.

He is a member of the Norwegian Academy of Science and Technology and is also a member of the National Research Ethics Committee for Science and Technology (NENT) and their working group which has investigated research ethics aspects of AI. Home page: https://jimtoer.no
